Finding the Best Prior Art

Is your concept already “on the market”? What is the best approach to find out if your invention has previously been patented, or how unique it is compared to other inventions? Rich demonstrates how and where to find the best preceding art in this fourth video. Prior art is defined as any proof that your concept is already well-known in the public domain.

It refers to all publicly available material in whatever format prior to the filing of your patent application. This means that searching databases for prior art that corresponds to your idea is critical before submitting your application. This is when consulting a patent attorney with experience conducting these searches and who can ensure that all bases are covered is extremely important.
