How to Create a Journal Entry

In this lesson, you will learn how to create a journal entry under the General Ledger module in Parsimony.com. A journal entry is a financial transaction recorded in the accounting system. It contains the date, the accounts affected, and the amounts of the debit and credit entries. Journal entries are the foundation of the accounting system, and they are used to record all financial transactions in a business.

To create a journal entry, you will need to navigate to the General Ledger module in Parsimony.com and select the “Journal Entries” tab. From there, you can click the “New Journal Entry” button and begin entering the details of your transaction. You will need to specify the date of the entry, the accounts that are being debited and credited, and the amounts involved.

Parsimony.com allows you to create journal entries for a variety of transactions, such as revenue recognition, expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation. Once you have entered all the necessary information, you can save the journal entry and it will be recorded in the accounting system. You can also edit or delete journal entries if necessary.
